I feel I’ve been neglecting this blog of late. It’s not that I can’t be bothered to update it, or that I can’t think of interesting things to rant about. Actually I’m not exactly sure why I haven’t been updating it. I think it may be because I have a tendancy to overthink things. The amount of times I can remember several speperate occasions when I’ve been writing a rather long post and then decided “no… nobody wants to read about that!”.
So I think I’m going to step up my game. I’m going to start blogging about all sorts of nonsense. My first thought was that this may detract from the quality of the content, but then I actually re-read some of my previous posts and decided I really haven’t produced enough quality yet for that to be possible! I’m ok with that though. I figure if I just start publishing all the nonsense that crosses my mind, then the higher quality stuff will come naturally. So from now on I will attempt to update the blog more regularly, but expect crap…
In other news I just acquired my copy of ‘Death From The Skies!’ and I can’t wait to give that a good ol’ reading! But I do need to finish ‘The Ancestors Tale’ first. It’s been a long read and I’m almost there. I’m very much a one book person you see, I find it very difficult not to get distracted by something else if I start reading so I have to restrain myself and stick to one book just so I see it through to the end. Not that ‘The Ancestors Tale’ is boring of course, far from it. It’s just that I find lots of things interesting and find it very hard not to get distracted when I spot something else interesting.
You see this is the kind of crap I was talking about. Well I’m posting it anyway, I think it’s for the best!

I don’t think that this is crap, it just gives a better insight into how your mind works, allows us to get to know you better. I for one am a single book person, and if I get in the mood to read, I go through two to three books a week, but that usually ends within a fortnight.
Aside; fortnight is an awesome word.

Fair enough. To clarify, by crap I kinda meant junk or nonsense or something, which is really what I was intending to put on this blog in the first place. With the occasional interesting thing.
But as for books, I’m the same. I normally get into a reading spree over summer in which I’ll get through several books in a number of weeks (depending how big the books are).
But I haven’t been reading much at all lately. Just got back into it though, having bought this new one, but I’m still determined to finish the Dawkins book (nearly there!
).

Ohhh yeah! You’ll have to lend me that! I’ve been reading the His Dark Materials trilogy these past few days, just blitzed through them, they are interesting for fiction. I’ve not read many factual books of late, I want to find a good programming book, probably in C. I’ve got one, but I want another one that is aimed at teaching instead of discussing, as this one is aimed at people woh have some experiance in it, but I can see it will be valuable in the long run.
Oh, I might pop over to leicester soon o/

Ahhhh! I’ll lend you the God delusion, I presume that’s what you meant. It’s not the one I’m reading at the moment though, I left it at home.
If you want to learn C, I would say the best way is by hands on experience. although I speak for myself because I think you have done more programming than me in general. But personally I find I’m best at learning that sort of thing as a means to an end. For example, when I was doing my C programming project I started off knowing virtually nothing about the language. But by the end of it I was really gettting into programming. Haven’t done any C for a while, but if you want to learn the basics, I think I can remember most of the basic syntax and subroutines and such.
Anyway. If you fancy coming to Leicester, how about soon? We’re having a Gentlemens style drinking time if you fancy joining us for that. I’ll keep you informed.
